The Graham County Register of Deeds provides numerous serviced to the general public, business, and legal community. These include recording legal documents, deeds, plats- certifying documents, administering notary oaths- vital statistics, marriages, births, and deaths.
The records in this office are maintained in accordance with the North Carolina General Statutes and are open for public inspection.
Access to the public records is available at the Register of Deeds office from 8:30 to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday excluding legal holidays. No appointments are necessary

FEES SCHEDULE
We only accept Cash or Checks for any recording fees.
Recording Fees:
- $14.00 for the first page (this includes the$2.00 probate fee when required).
- $3.00 for each additional page
- $25.00 Non standard form (An instrument that does not meet the July 1, 2002 New Real Estate Recording Standards)
Filing a non-standard Document- Effective July 1, 2002 NC G.S. 161-14. A $25.00 non-standard fee is required plus the regular recording fee for any instrument presented for registration that does not meet the following:
- Presented on 8 ½ x 11” or 8 ½ x 14” paper
- Have a blank margin at the top of the first page of 3” and ½ “ on remaining sides of the first page and all sides of subsequent pages.
- Typed or printed in black on white paper in legible font that is not smaller than 10 points in size
- Is printed in single-spaced pages
- Indicates the type of instrument at the top of the first page, (below 3” margin as required)
- The new requirements permit blanks to be filled in and corrections to be made by hand in pen
- $5.00 for the first page for a Certified Copy and$2.00 for each additional page.
- $.25 (twenty five cents) for copies per page
- $10.00 for each additional document when multiplying documents as reflected on the first page of a document that contained two or more instruments. Note: Register is not required to index any multiple instrument whose title does not appear on the first page of the document.
- $1.00 per page for a faxed copy
- $2.00 for a notary certification
General Fees
The fees charged by the Register of Deeds office will increase as required by N.C. General Statute 161-10. The following Fees became effective 01-01-2002:
